Job Description:
The General Laborer supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of food products by performing hands-on assembly line and material handling tasks throughout the plant. This role ensures line flow, product integrity, and compliance with safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform hands-on production tasks, including packing, recasing, repackaging, and product rework across multiple lines
Maintain line speed while meeting quality and appearance standards
Prepare, stage, and replenish materials, packaging, and supplies during production runs
Verify production codes, dates, and labels for compliance with product specifications
Operate and adjust coder machines for accurate labeling
Build, stack, and hand-palletize finished goods following safety and quality standards
Handle packing cases, moving cases, and rework activities as assigned
Reseal, label, and return unused materials to warehouse locations
Power down, clean, and prepare coding, taping, and production equipment for the next shift
Assist with product changeovers, including removal and staging of packaging materials
Maintain adequate packaging supplies to support production efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Comply with all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies, and food safety requirements
Communicate production or quality concerns to team leads or supervisors
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, GMP policies, and production procedures
Basic math skills using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and grasping
Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and high-noise environments with appropriate PPE
Willingness to work a multi-shift manufacturing environment, including overtime as needed
