Our client, a leading organization committed to advancing enterprise solutions, is seeking a talented Java Developer Consultant to join their dynamic team in the Greater Springfield, MA area. This is your chance to contribute to high-priority AWS migration projects and work on cutting-edge backend and frontend development. What You’ll Do:

  • Develop robust backend services using Java 17/21 on AWS Lambda, delivering scalable solutions.
  • Enhance existing applications with Java 17 and Spring Boot on ECS Fargate to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on multi-region AWS deployments, utilizing Terraform and GitOps practices.
  • Interact with Oracle databases through SQL and PL/SQL for seamless data integration.
  • Create and refine front-end pages using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX, ensuring user-friendly interfaces.
  • Improve existing front-end components with Thymleaf, HTML, CSS, and AJAX.
  • Write comprehensive unit tests with Junit and Mockito to ensure high code quality.
  • Deploy applications efficiently using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
  • Customize infrastructure as code, modifying Terraform scripts for scalable environments.
  • Engage directly with end users to gather requirements and provide exceptional support.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 17/21 development.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle databases.
  • Front-end experience with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and AJAX.
  • Skilled in writing unit tests with Junit and Mockito.
  • Familiarity with AWS Lambda, ECS Fargate, and cloud-based deployments.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively within teams.
  • Adaptability and resilience under pressure, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with HTMX for advanced front-end interactions.
  • Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure as code management.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior experience in AWS migration projects.
  • Background working with enterprise-scale solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications in AWS or Java development are a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
