Material Handler
Worcester, MA

Our client in Worcester, MA is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join their production team. As a Material Handler you will perform general stocking labor including moving freight, stock and other materials. Working in the Shipping Department.

Responsibilities of the Material Handler:
 

• Transports freight, stock, and other materials by hand or by using pallet jacks to and from various locations.
• Sorts cargo before loading or unloading.
• Uses bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Loads and unloads cargo using appropriate tools.
• Checks & packs order as they come in.
• Transfer materials from receiving to back room and from upstairs to dock for truck pick up.
• Marks containers with identifying information or tags.
• Stacks cargo where directed using pallets or cargo boards.
• Restocking shelves, makes sure there are always boxes on hand and keeps the area clean.
• Uses daily production sheets or work tickets to record the number of units moved or managed.
• Other duties as required.

Requirements of the Material Handler:

• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to handle materials and equipment in a responsible manner.
• Must be able to perform duties in time to required deadlines.
• Position does not require any previous experience working with office software.
• 0-1 year experience.

Compensation for the Material Handler:

• Pay Rate: $18.00 Hourly
• Schedule: Monday to Friday / 7am to 3:30pm
