R&D Technical Services Intern

Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented R&D Technical Services Intern to join our innovative Research & Development team. In this role, you will support product testing, quality assurance, and development initiatives that drive our commitment to excellence. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in product evaluation, laboratory operations, and culinary presentations within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Shelf-Life Testing:
Coordinate external laboratory testing by preparing documentation, scheduling sample pick-ups, and tracking lab reports.
Conduct internal sensory shelf-life evaluations, maintaining testing calendars, preparing samples, and documenting results accurately.
Compile microbiological and sensory data into comprehensive, easy-to-understand reports and spreadsheets.

Product Specifications Management:

Draft and update detailed product specifications ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain a centralized specifications database for easy access and ongoing updates.

Internal QA Laboratory Support:

Submit testing requests to the QA lab and perform in-house testing using the Fat Analyzer when lab resources are limited.

Product Development Support:

Assist in small-scale trials on the production floor, following established protocols.

Support the R&D Process Manager during large-scale testing efforts.

Prepare test labels and retrieve samples from product trials for evaluation.

Culinary & Presentation Assistance:

Organize and facilitate product evaluations and tastings.

Assist in preparing and delivering product presentations to customers and internal teams, including Lunch & Learn sessions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum of a high school diploma; higher education or technical training is a plus.
1-2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
Culinary skills and experience are advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in math, and excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Highly organized with keen attention to detail.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable working in a plant setting and supporting production-related activities when needed.

Compensation & Schedule:

Pay rate: $20 – $30 per hour, depending on experience.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
