Security Systems Installer

Location: Mankato, MN

Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Security Systems Installer to join our team and support high-quality installations of security and low-voltage systems. This role involves hands-on cable termination, equipment setup, testing, and ensuring proper system performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and capable of working independently while supporting apprentices and project teams.

Security Systems Installer Responsibilities

  • Install and terminate cabling and security system equipment in accordance with specifications, building codes, and company standards.

  • Test all equipment after termination to ensure proper operation and system performance.

  • Work at heights and in confined spaces using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and proper safety procedures.

  • Train apprentices on company procedures, systems, and installation techniques.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Field Engineers to support project schedules, budgets, system startup, and job closeout.

Security Systems Installer Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • 3+ years of experience in the electronic or low-voltage field with working knowledge of AC/DC theory.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, proper safety practices, and basic computer skills.

  • Strong problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
