Utilities Estimator Worcester, MA Our client is a growing telecommunications and utility construction firm specializing in underground and aerial infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive cost estimates and bid packages for utility construction projects, supporting the full estimating lifecycle from RFP review through project handoff. Utilities Estimator Responsibilities:
Review RFPs, drawings, and technical specifications; perform detailed labor, material, and equipment takeoffs
Develop comprehensive cost estimates using historical data, production rates, and schedules of values
Coordinate subcontractor and vendor pricing, evaluate proposals, and support bid strategy
Collaborate with sales, project management, engineering, purchasing, and finance throughout the bid process
Prepare bid summaries, BOMs, schedules, and handoff packages; track bid results and improve estimating accuracy
Utilities Estimator Requirements:
5+ years of utility, telecom, or construction estimating experience, or equivalent transferable experience
Experience with underground and/or aerial utility construction projects
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction-related estimating tools
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineering packages
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Utilities Estimator Compensation:
$80K – $120K salary range dependent on experience
