Job Title: Property Maintenance Associate
Location: Chicago, IL 60646
Hours: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Job Description:
The Property Maintenance Associate is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks throughout an apartment community to ensure units, common areas, and building systems are safe, functional, and well maintained. Work is performed according to work orders, safety guidelines, and supervisor instructions.
Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs including plumbing, trash removal, and painting
• Troubleshoot and repair issues in apartment units and common areas
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of common areas, mechanical rooms, and maintenance spaces
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs as needed
• Inspect apartments for move-ins, move-outs, and routine maintenance needs
• Replace fixtures, appliances, light bulbs, filters, locks, and hardware as needed
• Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working condition
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards to management
• Communicate effectively with apartment residents
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management
Requirements:
• Must have prior maintenance or handyman experience (apartment or property maintenance preferred)
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods of time
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general building repairs
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must be eligible to work in the US
• Must be willing to submit to a background screen
