This role is responsible for the safe planning, coordination, and execution of all commercial diving operations. The position leads dive teams supporting marine construction, dock and mooring services, salvage, and related underwater work, while ensuring full compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Dive Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise commercial dive teams during all underwater operations.
  • Plan and coordinate dive activities, including pre-dive briefings and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all diving equipment is properly inspected, maintained, and ready for use.
  • Monitor diver performance, bottom time, and decompression requirements.
  • Maintain accurate dive logs, project documentation, and compliance records.
  • Enforce safety protocols and emergency response procedures at all times.
  • Oversee mobilization and demobilization of dive crews, equipment, and support vessels.
  • Mentor and develop junior divers and tenders to build technical skill and safety awareness.

Dive Supervisor Requirements

  • ADCI-certified Dive Supervisor (Inshore or Offshore).
  • Minimum of 7 years of commercial diving experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of diving physics, physiology, and decompression practices.
  • Hands-on experience with underwater construction, inspection, welding, cutting, salvage, or similar marine services.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and oxygen administration certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Additional Notes

  • Experience working in New England marine environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pile driving, salvage operations, and dock or mooring support is a plus.
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA, rigging, confined space, or surface-supplied air diving are desirable.
  • Must be able to work in physically demanding marine conditions, including adverse weather and confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform strenuous physical tasks is required.
