Are you a skilled driver with a knack for organization and safety? Our client is seeking a dedicated Yard Jockey to join their team and ensure the seamless movement of trucks and trailers within their facility. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient operations and supporting the logistics team.
Responsibilities of the Yard Jockey
Operate a yard truck or terminal tractor to move trailers to and from loading docks and designated parking areas.
Perform regular yard checks to ensure proper organization and safety of all equipment and vehicles.
Align and position vehicles accurately for loading and unloading operations.
Inspect trucks and trailers for safety and damage before moving them.
Assist with coordinating truck arrivals and departures to ensure smooth yard operations.
Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring all equipment is safely stored and easily accessible.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all personnel in the yard.
Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, dispatchers, and other team members to optimize workflow and operations.
Requirements of the Yard Jockey
Proven experience as a Yard Jockey or in a similar role.
Ability to operate yard trucks or similar equipment safely.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Familiarity with safety regulations in a yard or warehouse setting.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compensation/Benefits for the Yard Jockey
Pay Rate $17.50
