Job Title: General Laborer
Location: Niles, IL
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 4PM – 2:30 AM
Pay Rate: $19.00 (1st) $20.00 (2nd) 

Job Description:
The General Laborer supports the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of food products by performing hands-on assembly line and material handling tasks throughout the plant. This role ensures line flow, product integrity, and compliance with safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform hands-on production tasks, including packing, recasing, repackaging, and product rework across multiple lines
• Maintain line speed while meeting quality and appearance standards
• Prepare, stage, and replenish materials, packaging, and supplies during production runs
• Verify production codes, dates, and labels for compliance with product specifications
• Operate and adjust coder machines for accurate labeling
• Build, stack, and hand-palletize finished goods following safety and quality standards
• Handle packing cases, moving cases, and rework activities as assigned
• Reseal, label, and return unused materials to warehouse locations
• Power down, clean, and prepare coding, taping, and production equipment for the next shift
• Assist with product changeovers, including removal and staging of packaging materials
• Maintain adequate packaging supplies to support production efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Comply with all Safety, GMP, Quality, Plant Policies, and food safety requirements
• Communicate production or quality concerns to team leads or supervisors

Requirements:

• Must have previous food manufacturing High School Diploma or GED
• Must have experience in food processing, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, GMP policies, and production procedures
• Basic math skills using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, and grasping
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
• Ability to work in hot, cold, humid, and high-noise environments with appropriate PPE
• Willingness to work a multi-shift manufacturing environment, including overtime as needed
