Material Handler – Ballenger Frederick, MD

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM

Job Summary

Builders FirstSource in Frederick, MD is hiring a reliable Material Handler to support warehouse and yard operations. This position involves loading/unloading, staging orders, moving materials, and keeping the work area safe and organized. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable with hands-on work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from trucks (manual or with equipment as assigned)
• Move, stage, and organize materials for delivery and customer pickup
• Pick and stage orders accurately (pick tickets / labels / scanner as applicable)
• Wrap, band, and secure product for shipment
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and inventory counts as needed
• Inspect materials for damage and report issues to a supervisor
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all safety rules
• Perform general warehouse duties to support daily operations

Requirements

• Warehouse/material handling experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work throughout the shift
• Strong attendance and punctuality (consistent Monday–Friday schedule)
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely at all times
• Must be able to pass any required pre-employment screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift experience (a plus; may train depending on site needs)
• Experience working with building materials (lumber, construction supplies, etc.)
• Team-oriented with good communication skills
