Shop Technician – Development Track to Service Technician I

Pay: $18–$22 per hour (based on experience)
Benefits: 401(k), Health & Dental Insurance, Paid Time Off
Job Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: On-Site (MA), Shop (NH)

Growth Opportunity

This position offers a clear development path into a Service Technician I role within approximately 12 months, based on performance and skill progression.

Position Summary

The Shop Technician supports daily production flow, shop organization, equipment preparation, logistics coordination, and facility upkeep within a technical service and manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mechanical tasks, and learning technical service operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment and component assembly using established procedures and checklists
  • Support media tank re-bedding and related preparation work with strong attention to cleanliness, labeling, and staging
  • Handle pick-ups and deliveries for vendors, customers, and field technicians as assigned
  • Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including material handling, packaging support, and reporting discrepancies
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and general facility support
  • Prepare tools, parts, and preventive maintenance kits for service activities
  • Assist technicians with field service preparation and support tasks
  • Maintain accurate documentation including serial numbers, service notes, photos, and parts tracking

Qualifications

  • Reliable attendance and strong safety awareness
  • Comfortable performing hands-on mechanical and technical work
  • Ability to follow written procedures and checklists
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
  • Strong willingness to learn technical systems, equipment maintenance, and service operations
