Senior Extrusion Technician III  

Pay: $34.50 – $38.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 3rd Shift 12:00AM- 8:30AM
Location: West Bridgewater, Ma

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Extrusion Technician III to support advanced extrusion operations within a specialized commercial and medical manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a highly skilled extrusion professional who can independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, adjust, clean, and support complex extrusion processes.

This position plays an important role in production performance, quality compliance, equipment troubleshooting, process consistency, and mentoring team members within a GMP and ISO 13485 regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently set up, run, adjust, troubleshoot, and clean extrusion manufacturing equipment.
  • Support multiple extrusion machines, processes, and production lots with minimal supervision.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting to resolve process, equipment, material, or quality issues.
  • Support complex medical extrusion processes, including multi-lumen, multi-layer, bump tubing, precision tubing, or other specialized extrusion applications.
  • Perform detailed quality checks and ensure products meet specifications.
  • Use precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, vision systems, and laser micrometers.
  • Complete and review production documentation in accordance with GMP and ISO 13485 requirements.
  • Monitor raw material usage, production flow, quality limits, and efficiency targets.
  • Perform full machine cleanouts, changeovers, resets, and line readiness activities.
  • Support raw material management, mixing, blending, and finished goods packaging.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, workflow, and production consistency.
  • Train, mentor, and provide feedback to operators and team members.
  • Help delegate work responsibilities and support daily production priorities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical high school diploma or Associate’s degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong extrusion or plastics experience highly preferred.
  • Direct experience with melt extrusion strongly preferred.
  • Experience in medical device, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP, cleanroom, or another controlled manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with complex medical extrusion such as multi-lumen, multi-layer, bump tubing, or precision tubing is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, mechanical aptitude, and process discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and support others on the team.
  • Ability to read precision measuring instruments and interpret quality requirements.
  • Strong understanding of weights, measures, decimals, fractions, and metric measurements.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.

Preferred Skills

  • Advanced extrusion setup and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple extrusion lines or production lots.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced operators.
  • Strong documentation habits in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time while monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
  • Consistent lifting of less than 20 lbs.
  • Ability to safely work around extrusion equipment, raw materials, and finished goods.
