Title: Material Handler I
Location: Grand Prairie TX 75052
Pay Rate: $18/hr
Schedule: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
Duration: Contract to Hire

Great opportunity! We’re excited to find an enthusiastic and dependable Material Handler I to join a dynamic warehouse and logistics team. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a key part in accurately picking and moving inventory, packaging orders for shipment, verifying quantities, and keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe. You’ll also help support expedited and time-critical shipments and jump in to resolve shipping/receiving issues.

What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)

Pick inventory parts quickly and accurately to support shop and customer needs – your effort keeps things moving.
Move materials from receiving/production to storage or designated areas with energy and care.
Label and mark materials and stage parts in the correct sequence for assembly – precision matters here.
Package parts for storage or shipment and help choose the best packaging and shipping methods.
Verify shipments by counting, weighing, and measuring against bills of lading, invoices, and orders.
Prepare shipments by applying labels and required documentation – ensure every order ships on time.
Load and unload trucks; route items to the right departments efficiently.
Unpack and inspect incoming shipments; document shortages and flag damaged items right away.
Support expedited shipping needs, including arranging time-critical transportation when required.
Participate in cycle counts and keep accurate inventory and shipping records.
Inspect material-handling equipment for defects and report issues for repair – safety first.
Assist with troubleshooting errors and help resolve shipment and receiving complaints.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all quality and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Prior warehouse, shipping, or material handling experience (preferred but not required – we love training motivated people)
Ability to follow written procedures and keep accurate records
Basic computer skills (familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus)
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a team-first attitude

Preferred (Nice to Have)

SAP experience or knowledge
HazMat (Hazardous Materials) certification
CTPAT knowledge or certification

Physical Requirements (Work Environment)

Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands for handling and packaging
Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting in a fast-paced warehouse environment
May require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling as needed
