Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Quality Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Management System (QMS) and overseeing all quality assurance operations. This role ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and company standards while supporting manufacturing performance and driving continuous improvement. The Quality Manager serves as the primary quality liaison for customers, suppliers, and auditors.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Leadership

  • Lead daily quality assurance and inspection activities to support production and on-time delivery.
  • Supervise Quality Supervisors, Inspectors, Incoming Inspection, and Document Control teams.
  • Monitor product quality trends and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Production and Engineering to improve processes, reduce defects, and enhance product quality.

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Maintain and continuously improve the QMS to ensure compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee document control, quality records, and procedural accuracy.
  • Lead and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits (ISO, FDA, as applicable).
  • Participate in Management Review meetings and establish measurable quality objectives.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action (CAPA) initiatives for nonconformances.
  • Analyze quality data, including customer complaints, RMAs, and production metrics, to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Review inspection results and approve product release per established procedures.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) with risk identification and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input.

Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Act as the primary contact for customer quality issues, complaints, and corrective actions.
  • Investigate product returns and communicate findings and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve performance.
  • Ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and executed throughout manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) or electronics manufacturing required.
  • Knowledge of QMS, ISO standards, FDA/GMP requirements (as applicable), and IPC-A-610.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, audits, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work across office and manufacturing floor environments.
  • Regular standing, walking, sitting, and computer use.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly manages Quality Supervisors, Quality Inspectors, Incoming Inspection, and Document Control personnel. Responsible for coaching, performance management, scheduling, and ensuring overall team effectiveness.

Salary: $115-$125 Base salary, + robust bonus structure
