Schedule: Monday–Friday (Full-Time)
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Central and Thomas)
Job Type: Temporary with potential for long-term opportunities

Position Summary

Masis Staffing is seeking a compassionate, customer-focused Customer Service Representative to support a busy healthcare call center. This position is ideal for candidates with medical scheduling, patient access, insurance verification, or healthcare call center experience who enjoy helping others and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, you will assist patients with scheduling appointments, registration, insurance verification, and answering questions while ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Success in this position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, empathy, and the ability to manage a high volume of inbound calls.

Responsibilities

  • Answer a high volume of inbound calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate services.
  • Perform patient registration and maintain accurate demographic information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Obtain and document clinical, financial, and insurance information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Conduct telephone triage and route patient requests appropriately.
  • Confirm appointments and perform follow-up communications.
  • Maintain scheduling accuracy to maximize provider availability.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and other departments to resolve scheduling and patient concerns.
  • Educate patients on available healthcare services and assist with appointment selection.
  • Complete data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Consistently meet quality standards and call center performance metrics.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a high-volume call center or healthcare environment.
  • At least 1 year of healthcare scheduling, patient access, or medical triage experience.
  • Experience handling approximately 80–100 calls per day.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and insurance verification.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while working in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
  • Experience with NextGen or similar healthcare software.
  • Experience using Cisco or comparable phone systems.
  • Medical terminology coursework or certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office-based work.
  • Frequent sitting, typing, and telephone use throughout the day.
  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
