Job Title: Sanitation Lead
Location: Bolingbrook, IL
Hours: 2:30 PM – 1:00 AM (Mon–Thurs) + OT as needed
Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.00 per hour

Job Description:
Masis Staffing is now hiring a Sanitation Lead in Bolingbrook, IL. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sanitation professional with leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment. The Sanitation Lead is responsible for leading the sanitation team, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, GMPs, and company policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and audit-ready facility. This position works closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to ensure all equipment and production areas are properly cleaned and sanitized.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the daily activities of the sanitation team
  • Ensure all team members follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), GMP, food safety, and company safety procedures
  • Train employees on proper sanitation procedures and the safe handling of sanitation chemicals
  • Assign and monitor daily sanitation tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Coordinate sanitation schedules with Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Quality departments
  • Perform sanitation inspections and effectiveness audits, implementing corrective actions when needed
  • Assist the Sanitation Supervisor in developing and improving sanitation procedures and SOPs
  • Maintain sanitation documentation, work orders, chemical logs, and Master Sanitation Schedule records
  • Monitor sanitation supply inventory and communicate equipment and supply needs
  • Assemble and disassemble production equipment for proper cleaning and sanitation
  • Clean production equipment, warehouse equipment, and facility areas using approved chemicals and procedures
  • Safely apply industrial cleaning chemicals, foaming agents, and sanitizers
  • Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, food safety standards, and company quality requirements
  • Operate a forklift as needed (must maintain forklift certification)
  • Communicate sanitation issues and operational concerns to management
  • Support departmental training and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of management or leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous sanitation experience in food manufacturing required
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs, food safety regulations, and sanitation procedures
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Windows
  • Strong organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working around machinery, sanitation chemicals, and moving equipment
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be willing to submit to a drug screen
  • Must be willing to submit to a background screen
  • Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
