Job Title: Material Handler 

El Mirage, AZ
$22.00/hr.

Position Summary:

The Material Handler is a production-based role responsible for safely handling, moving, and organizing steel materials and equipment within the facility. This position is equivalent to a Rigger classification. All individuals must successfully complete a compulsory training period before being assigned to a production shift. Overtime may be required based on production needs.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Duties may vary depending on shift assignment, production demands, and supervisor instructions. All Material Handlers must be able to perform the following:

  • Operate overhead crane systems to move steel beams, plates, and assemblies

  • Handle and transport small steel components and shop equipment weighing 10–50 pounds

  • Assist with cleaning and painting steel, including handling paint and solvents

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently

  • Load and unload trucks and railcars using cranes and forklifts

  • Perform yard and facility cleaning duties

  • Assist in general building and equipment maintenance


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 10–50 pounds

  • Adequate strength, mobility, dexterity, and stamina to perform physical labor

  • Good vision and hearing

  • Ability to work with minimal assistance


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

  • Willingness to complete mandatory training period

  • Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime as required
