Engineering Technician 1, with Work/Life Balance
Days/Hours: 6am-3pm Monday – Friday
Essential Responsibilities
This position assists the Engineering team with product and process development for new product introductions, line transfers, and sustaining projects.
Core Technical Duties
Testing & Execution: Execute engineering studies supporting feasibility, process development, design verification and validation (V&V), and sustaining changes.
Prototyping & Builds: Build prototypes, development samples, and controlled engineering builds.
Sample Management: Prepare, condition, label, and handle test samples according to instructions while maintaining complete product traceability.
Equipment Operation: Operate tensile test equipment, vision measurement systems, and basic metrology tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
Process & Test Validation: Support and execute process validations, test method development/validations, root cause analyses, and assembly line development.
Data Analysis & Documentation
Protocol Review: Review and provide actionable feedback on assigned protocols, test plans, and data collection plans.
Data Handling: Perform test data analysis, identifying unexpected results and protocol deviations.
Statistical Analysis: Organize data using Excel and Minitab to generate tables, graphs, basic descriptive statistics, and clear study results.
Laboratory & Operations Management
Lab Ownership: Maintain day-to-day ownership of the engineering laboratory, including 5S organization, material storage, and sample disposition.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate study status, risks, and issues to deliver work on schedule. Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations on documentation, training, and continuous improvement.
General Support: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education & Experience
Education & Core Experience
Associate degree, High School Diploma, or equivalency.
3+ years of process and manufacturing technician experience and testing
Medical device or similar regulated industry experience
Proven ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes using scientific principles and resolve production quality issues.
Experience strictly following work instructions, process documentation, and safety procedures to ensure high-quality output and safe equipment operation.
Capable of accurately completing production paperwork and maintaining strict inventory accuracy.

Salary: $23-$28/hour
