Manufacturing Production Control Specialist
 

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85034 (Near Sky Harbor Airport)

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM–3:00 PM, every other Friday

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000/year ($29–$34/hour depending on experience)

 

Summary: We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Manufacturing Production Control Specialist to support daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for coordinating production priorities, maintaining accurate work order information, supporting scheduling activities, and ensuring materials and resources are aligned to meet customer commitments.

The ideal candidate is an intelligent problem solver who enjoys learning, asking questions, following through, and improving processes. This person must be organized, engaged, and able to think ahead rather than simply react to issues as they arise.

Experience in metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support production schedules to ensure customer orders ship on time
  • Create, track, and close production work orders
  • Monitor labor tracking and production progress
  • Coordinate daily priorities with operations and production leadership
  • Review upcoming production needs and identify potential challenges before they impact schedules
  • Maintain accurate information related to raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and inventory
  • Support BOM accuracy and production documentation
  • Ensure production kits and materials are prepared ahead of manufacturing needs
  • Partner closely with procurement to ensure materials are available when needed
  • Communicate order status and potential delays proactively
  • Assist with process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Provide backup support to procurement activities as needed

Systems Experience:

  • Experience with Sage 100 Manufacturing, ERP/MRP systems, or similar manufacturing software strongly preferred
  • Ability to navigate work orders, bills of materials (BOMs), inventory transactions, and production data within an ERP system

Cross-Training & Team Support

This position works closely with the Manufacturing Procurement Specialist and will be cross-trained to provide backup support for purchasing, material coordination, and supplier communication. Both roles are expected to collaborate closely to keep production moving and customer commitments on track.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, production control, scheduling, or related field
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, work orders, BOMs, and inventory flow
  • Experience in metal fabrication is highly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and forward-thinking mindset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production, sales, purchasing, and leadership teams
  • ERP/MRP system experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred
  • Sage 100 preferred
