Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven Manufacturing Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing activities and support manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring materials, supplies, and outside services are available when needed while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting production goals.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are strongly preferred. The successful candidate should be comfortable using formulas, analyzing data, and creating meaningful reports — not simply maintaining spreadsheets.

  • Utilize Excel formulas, reporting tools, and data analysis to support decision-making
  • Identify potential material shortages before they impact production
  • Communicate issues and solutions proactively to leadership
  • Provide backup support for production control activities as needed

Systems Experience:

  • Experience with Sage 100 Manufacturing, ERP systems, or purchasing software preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required, including formulas, data analysis, reporting, and tracking tools

Cross-Training & Team Support

This position works closely with the Manufacturing Production Control Specialist and will be cross-trained to provide backup support for production scheduling, work orders, and inventory coordination. Both roles are expected to communicate effectively and work together to support customer commitments.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Experience purchasing raw materials and working with suppliers
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas and data analysis
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong follow-up and accountability skills

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team
  • ERP/MRP system experience preferred
  • Sage 100 is a plus
