Development Engineering Technician II-III
Westborough, MA | 1st Shift | $28.00–$38.00/hour DOE
We are seeking an experienced Development Engineering Technician II-III to support new product development, prototype builds, equipment testing, troubleshooting, and engineering activities in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician, Engineering Technician, R&D Technician, Test Technician, or Prototype Technician who enjoys building, troubleshooting, and working directly with engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electro-mechanical prototype equipment from engineering drawings, documentation, and verbal instructions.
- Perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly of components, subassemblies, and equipment.
- Complete electrical wire routing and connections.
- Perform fluidic and pneumatic tubing/routing.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and assist with repairs.
- Perform equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support installation and qualification of new equipment.
- Perform verification and functional testing according to engineering test plans.
- Document testing, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and results.
- Work closely with engineers during prototype builds and product development.
- Assist with improving build instructions, test procedures, and manufacturing processes.
- Safely use common hand tools, power tools, measurement equipment, and basic machine-shop equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Engineering Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, R&D Technician, Test Technician, or similar technical manufacturing role.
- Strong hands-on mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly experience.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with electrical wiring and mechanical assembly.
- Experience with pneumatics and/or fluidic systems strongly preferred.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
- Comfortable building and troubleshooting equipment in a prototype or engineering development environment.
- Able to work independently while collaborating closely with engineers and other technical team members.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.

1st Shift – Monday through Friday
Pay
$19.00–$34.00 per hour, depending on experience and technical skill level.
