Field Service Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ — I-17 & Buckeye Rd area Pay: $35.00–$45.00 per hour
We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, with experience maintaining and repairing heavy machinery in construction, mining, or industrial environments. This position plays a critical role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and operating efficiently while minimizing downtime.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and water trucks
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and software, including Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, Paccar, Bendix, and Allison
Repair or replace faulty components, including diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical systems
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
Work closely with equipment operators and team members to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies
Order parts and supplies required for repairs and maintenance
Test and inspect repaired equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to service
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a similar position
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic reports
Experience with diagnostic tools and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) preferred
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
Heavy equipment repair certification or technical training highly desirable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable working in physically demanding and fast-paced environments
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability
