Mold Assembly Technician

Job Title: Mold Assembly Technician – 2nd Shift (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Leominster, MA 
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Screening Requirements: E-Verify required; pre-employment drug test required (in-house saliva)

Position Summary

Masis Staffing is seeking a Mold Assembly Technician (2nd Shift) to support mold maintenance, assembly, and setup for production. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read and follow written instructions, schedules, and checklists to ensure molds are assembled and prepared correctly for hygienic, efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

Mold Maintenance

• Keep mold components and master tooling in good condition
• Change knives in the trim station as needed
• Repair broken mold items when appropriate in-house, or notify the supervisor/plant manager when outside tool shop repair is required

Mold Assembly

• Read and follow mold assembly instructions
• Review the production schedule and identify which molds must be assembled
• Retrieve required mold parts from designated storage locations
• Assemble molds and complete required checklists to confirm correct assembly
• Clean mold surfaces that contact packaging to support hygienic production standards

Mold Setup

• Remove molds from the machine and install new molds with minimal supervision
• Adjust machine controls according to stored machine settings
• Make mechanical adjustments including platen stops, bow rails, trim X position, and stacker position
• Adjust trim knives properly, including running sheet through the machine and adjusting Trim X, Y1, and Y2, as well as bow rail adjusters

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and understand assembly instructions, schedules, and written checklists
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment and following safety and quality standards
• Ability to work reliably on 2nd shift (2:30 PM–11:00 PM), Monday–Friday
