Are you a skilled forklift operator looking to make an impact in a dynamic food manufacturing environment? Our client is seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Forklift Driver to join their team. In this role, you'll play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth movement of materials and products, all while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities of the Forklift Driver
Safely operate sit-down or stand-up forklifts to transport pallets, ingredients, and finished goods within the warehouse and production floor.
Load and unload materials from trailers and staging areas efficiently.
Transport materials to designated storage or production locations based on schedules and inventory needs.
Accurately scan and track inventory movements using handheld scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
Ensure all materials are stored in designated areas and stacked safely to prevent damage or contamination.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety, and sanitation procedures.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety hazards.
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including inventory counts and housekeeping.
Requirements of the Forklift Driver
High school diploma or GED required.
Valid forklift certification/license required.
Minimum 1 year of forklift experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Knowledge of food safety protocols and GMPs is a strong plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold or warm environments, depending on production area.
Attention to detail, good organizational skills, and a strong commitment to safety.
Ability to stand, bend, and lift throughout the shift, with exposure to varying temperatures.
