AR/AP Specialist
Contract to Hire Role
Pay Rate: $26/hour
Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented AR/AP Specialist with at least 3 years of experience in the construction or skilled trades industry. This is a critical role that serves as the financial “gatekeeper” between our field operations and the accounting department.
The ideal candidate thrives in an industrial environment and possesses a “detective” mindset. You won’t just be entering data; you will be responsible for auditing the integrity of our field-to-office financial pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
Field-to-Office Data Audit: Review and verify daily field reports and labor logs submitted digitally to ensure 100% accuracy before project posting.
Job Costing & Allocation: Correctly “bucket” and allocate material receipts, vendor invoices, and labor hours to specific industrial project codes.
Accounts Payable: Perform high-volume 3-way matching of Purchase Orders, Packing Slips, and Invoices.
Documentation Management: Reconcile site photos and digital receipts against vendor billing to resolve discrepancies.
Compliance: Manage vendor files, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and lien waivers to ensure project continuity.
General Administrative Support
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of AR/AP experience in a construction, utility, or industrial environment
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Must be comfortable learning and navigating construction-specific ERP systems.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to cross-reference multiple data sources (field logs vs. invoices) to identify variances.
Reliability: Proven track record of meeting tight weekly deadlines with high accuracy and minimal supervision.
