Job Description — Assembler Features 

Position: Assembler Features
Type: Temp / Temp-to-Hire 
Pay: $16.00/hr
Schedule: 1st shift – 6:30 am – 3:00 pm 
Location: Frederick, MD 

Overview

The Assembler Features is responsible for assembling Synboard components and related “feature” parts (trim, hardware, inserts, attachments, and packaged subassemblies) while meeting quality, safety, and production standards. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, ideal for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable using basic hand/power tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble Synboard parts and feature components according to work instructions, drawings, or sample units.
  • Measure, align, and fit parts to ensure accurate assembly and consistent quality.
  • Use hand tools and power tools as required (example: drill/driver, staple gun/brad nailer, clamps, tape measure, utility knife).
  • Apply adhesives, fasteners, or hardware components as needed for the build.
  • Inspect finished pieces for defects (chips, cracks, alignment issues, missing hardware) and correct issues when possible.
  • Label, stage, and package completed components for the next production step or shipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation (5S) and follow safety requirements at all times.
  • Meet hourly/daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Communicate shortages, damaged materials, or equipment issues to the lead/supervisor.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Entry-level manufacturing/assembly experience preferred (will train the right candidate).
  • Ability to read a tape measure and follow written or verbal instructions.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and small power tools.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to [30–50] lbs (with or without reasonable accommodation).
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with panel/board assembly, woodworking, or light construction.
  • Familiarity with basic quality checks and production pacing.
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience (if applicable).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/warehouse environment with noise, dust, and temperature changes depending on the season.
  • PPE may be required (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe boots).
