Position Summary
The Manufacturing Line Leader is responsible for coordinating daily production line activities, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards are met. This role serves as the primary point of leadership on the production line, directing team members, monitoring workflow, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Line Leader works closely with Production Management to ensure production goals, customer requirements, and company standards are consistently achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate production line employees to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Ensure all production activities meet safety, quality, and operational standards.
• Monitor line performance, output, scrap, and downtime and escalate issues as needed.
• Assist with line setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
• Train and mentor production employees on procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
• Ensure employees follow standard operating procedures, GMPs, food safety requirements and work instructions.
• Communicate daily production goals and expectations to team members.
• Coordinate staffing and workflow to meet production schedules and deadlines.
• Work with maintenance and quality teams to resolve equipment or product issues.
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, and documentation.
• Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote teamwork and maintain a positive, respectful work environment.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing or production environments.
• Prior experience in a team lead, line lead, or supervisory role preferred.
• Strong understanding of production workflows and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and resolve problems quickly.
