CMM Programmer – 1st Shift / Hybrid

Location: Oxford, CT
Pay: $30.00–$37.00/hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Onsite Schedule: Monday and Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM;
Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Our client, an established employee-owned plastic injection molding manufacturer, is hiring an experienced CMM Programmer for its Oxford, CT facility.

This is a hands-on metrology position focused on CMM programming, precision measurement, and inspection of plastic components used in medical devices, defense, and other industries.

We are looking for someone who can independently create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs, not simply operate existing programs.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or comparable software.

  • Interpret complex blueprints, CAD models, and advanced GD&T requirements.

  • Perform First Article Inspections and dimensional inspections.

  • Complete Gage R&R, measurement system analyses, and capability studies.

  • Develop inspection plans and determine appropriate measurement methods.

  • Inspect components using CMMs, vision systems, and precision measuring tools.

  • Analyze inspection results and work with Engineering and Quality to resolve measurement issues.

  • Support inspection fixture development and provide guidance on measurement techniques.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience in precision manufacturing.

  • Ability to independently create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs.

  • Experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or comparable CMM programming software.

  • Strong blueprint reading and advanced GD&T knowledge.

  • Experience with First Article Inspections, Gage R&R, and capability studies.

  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and height gauges.

  • Familiarity with SPC, inspection documentation, and CAD/CAM systems.

Helpful Experience

  • Programming ZEISS or Hexagon CMM equipment.

  • Micro-Vu or other vision system programming.

  • Plastic injection molding or medical device manufacturing.

  • ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Offline CMM programming or CAD-based inspection.

Schedule & Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule: Tuesday through Thursday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM ET, with Monday and Friday 7:00 AM -3:00 PM.

  • $30.00–$37.00 per hour, based on experience.

  • Direct-hire opportunity with an employee-owned manufacturer.

Additional Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements.
