This role is pivotal in ensuring the production of high-quality electronic components through expert programming and operation of CNC milling machines.
Responsibilities of the CNC Mill Programmer and Set Up Technician
Program CNC milling machines using CAD/CAM software based on engineering drawings and specifications.
Set up CNC milling machines, including tooling and fixturing, to ensure efficient production runs.
Operate CNC milling machines to produce parts to exacting tolerances and quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards, using precision measuring tools.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation of setups, programs, and production runs.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements of the CNC Mill Programmer and Set Up Technician
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining preferred.
Proven experience as a CNC Mill Programmer and Set Up Technician, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks) and G-code programming.
Strong understanding of machine principles, tooling, and materials.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues.
