Senior Test Technician

Location: Westborough, MA
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Pay: $23.50 -$26.50

Are you an experienced electronics test professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems? We're looking for a Senior Test Technician to support the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of advanced electro-mechanical products in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

In this role, you'll work alongside Engineering and Manufacturing teams to test sophisticated electrical and electronic assemblies, identify failures, and ensure products meet the highest quality standards before reaching customers.

What You'll Do

  • Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBA's, power control panels, and complete systems
  • Diagnose electrical and electronic failures down to the component level
  • Operate a variety of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and digital test instruments
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering documentation
  • Perform product verification using established test procedures and specifications
  • Record accurate test data and communicate troubleshooting results
  • Modify, improve, and create test procedures as products evolve
  • Support Engineering during new product introductions and product improvements
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on testing techniques and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with workmanship, safety, and quality standards

Required Skills

  • 3–5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting electro-mechanical or electronic products
  • Strong component-level troubleshooting skills
  • Experience testing PCBAs, electronic assemblies, and integrated systems
  • Proficiency using oscilloscopes, signal generators, digital multimeters, power supplies, and other electronic test equipment
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Experience testing AC power systems, including 110/120 VAC and 208/480 VAC three-phase
  • Familiarity with product safety testing standards such as UL or Intertek (ETL)
  • Experience with precision assembly, fine-pitch soldering, and PCB rework
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards
  • Ability to analyze diagnostic data and determine root cause of failures
  • Strong documentation skills, including updating and creating test procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor other technicians
  • High attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical School Diploma or Associate Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Experience working in a cleanroom manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of optics, optical assemblies, or optical testing
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or engineering builds
  • Medical device, aerospace, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing experience
