Front Office Receptionist (Behavioral Health) — Job Description
Pay Rate: $18/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Location:Kingman, AZ
Position Summary
We’re seeking a dependable Front Office Receptionist to support a busy behavioral health office. This role is the first point of contact for clients and visitors and is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional environment while handling front-desk operations, scheduling support, and administrative tasks with a high level of confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Greet and check in clients/visitors professionally; help maintain a calm, supportive front-office environment
Answer and route incoming phone calls; take accurate messages and follow up as needed
Schedule, confirm, and adjust appointments; assist with coordination for clinicians and office staff
Verify basic client information at check-in and help ensure paperwork is completed (as applicable)
Maintain strict confidentiality and follow HIPAA/privacy practices
Manage incoming/outgoing mail, scanning, faxing, and document filing
Keep front desk and lobby organized, stocked, and presentable
Support general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
1+ year of receptionist, front desk, or administrative experience (medical/behavioral health preferred)
Strong customer service skills and professional communication (phone, email, in-person)
Comfortable working in a confidential environment with sensitive information
Basic computer skills and ability to learn scheduling/EHR systems
Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a fast-paced setting
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, counseling, or social services settings
Knowledge of HIPAA and front office workflows (intake, forms, scheduling)
Physical/Work Environment
Primarily seated front-desk work with occasional standing/walking
Frequent phone and computer use
