Furnace Operator – 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

PAY:

  • $19.00 – $21.00 per hour DOE (Depending on Experience)

SUMMARY:

The Furnace Operator is directly responsible for operating equipment necessary to perform furnace operations and support daily production requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and prepare machines according to daily production schedules
  • Prepare equipment and ensure furnace settings are accurate
  • Monitor machinery during shift operations, adjusting settings as necessary
  • Load and unload setups, breakdowns, and operating equipment
  • Follow router directions and initial/date all pertinent information as required
  • Maintain accurate logs and monitor equipment to ensure proper output
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean workplace
  • Use personal protective equipment as required, including but not limited to safety vests, gloves, and eye protection
  • Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently while observing and complying with all safety and health regulations, including OSHA, MTI, and SDS standards
  • Report all accidents and safety concerns to supervisor immediately
  • Coordinate with outside machine shops regarding necessary fixtures and special machining
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, internal departments, and support staff to accomplish team and company goals
  • Perform similar or related duties as required, directed, or as situations dictate

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of one year of experience in furnace or heat-treating operations preferred
  • Working knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures involved in furnace maintenance and repair activities
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, vendors, contractors, and the public
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information appropriately
