Injection Molding Process Technician

Location: Oxford, CT
Pay: $21.86–$40.00/hour, based on experience
Shift: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, rotating 12-hour day shift
Schedule: 3 days one week / 4 days the next
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Our client, an established plastic injection molding manufacturer, is hiring an experienced Process Technician for its Oxford, CT facility.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can independently troubleshoot molding issues, adjust process parameters, and keep production running consistently in a high-mix injection molding environment.

What You'll Do

  • Set up, start, monitor, and optimize injection molding processes.

  • Adjust molding parameters including fill, pack, hold, cooling, and recovery.

  • Troubleshoot defects such as flash, short shots, splay, warping, sinks, and other quality issues.

  • Diagnose material, tooling, machine, and process-related problems.

  • Monitor cycle times, scrap, and downtime and make adjustments as needed.

  • Support mold trials, new tooling, and process validation.

  • Maintain setup sheets and process documentation.

  • Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, Tooling, and Maintenance to resolve issues.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of injection molding experience as a Process Technician or similar role.

  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and troubleshooting.

  • Experience independently adjusting molding parameters.

  • Ability to read part prints and specifications.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of scientific molding principles.

Helpful Experience

  • Scientific or decoupled molding.

  • DOE or process validation.

  • IQ/OQ/PQ.

  • Automation or robotics.

  • Medical device, tight-tolerance, or regulated plastic molding environments.
