About the Role:

As a 1st Shift Kettle Operator, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and managing large batches of fillings used in our variety of frozen stuffed foods, including dumplings, pierogies, empanadas, and more. You will play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and consistency. This position offers steady hours on the morning shift and the chance to develop specialized skills in food processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate large industrial kettles to cook and blend ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and cheeses according to established recipes and standards.
  • Measure, weigh, and monitor ingredients to ensure precise batch formulation.
  • Maintain optimal cooking temperature, texture, and flavor profile for each batch.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet daily schedules, ensuring continuous flow and minimal downtime.
  • Conduct regular inspections and adjustments during cooking processes to uphold quality standards.
  • Clean and sanitize kettles and surrounding work areas following HACCP and GMP guidelines.
  • Record batch data meticulously for traceability, quality assurance, and compliance.
  • Participate in equipment changeovers, cleaning, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow all food safety, allergen management, and safety protocols diligently.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior experience in food production, especially involving large-scale cooking or batch processing, preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated or cold environments (below 40°F).
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-conscious, and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes, safety procedures, and quality standards accurately.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
