Masis Staffing is hiring a Lab Technician for a reputable manufacturing warehouse in New Albany, Ohio. This is a great opportunity for detail-oriented candidates who enjoy hands-on lab work, color matching, and quality-focused production in a fast-paced environment.

Shift & Pay

• 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM at $17.50 an hour.
• 2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12:00am at $18.50 an hour.

Position Overview

The Lab Technician is responsible for the accurate preparation, testing, and documentation of product samples to meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role reports directly to the Sample Lab Manager and plays a key part in ensuring consistent, high-quality lab output.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow daily sample production schedules and work orders to meet customer deadlines and quality expectations
• Measure, organize, and prepare materials for sample production
• Perform color matching and mixing, including Pantone color standards
• Conduct sample testing and document results accurately
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety standards in the lab
• Communicate production issues to the Sample Lab Supervisor promptly
• Handle incoming materials and ensure proper documentation (including SDS verification)
• Assist with maintaining lab equipment and supporting additional projects as assigned
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE at all times

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with a good eye for color (must pass Munsell Color Test)
• Basic math skills including ratios, percentages, and volume calculations
• Ability to work with precision measuring tools and scales
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; Access is a plus)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with accuracy
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• 6+ months of technical training or relevant hands-on experience preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the shift
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance when needed
• Exposure to lab materials, mechanical equipment, and moderate noise levels
• Must have strong visual ability including color differentiation, depth perception, and focus adjustment
