Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Masis Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Machine Operator for a manufacturing bakery in Manchester, NH. Position Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring production equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing processes and high-quality products. This role plays a critical part in maintaining production standards, food safety compliance, and workplace safety while supporting daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Set up and prepare machinery for production runs, ensuring correct materials, packaging, and ingredients are used according to product specifications
• Monitor and adjust machine settings, including speed and weight controls, to ensure optimal performance
• Observe machine operations and product output to verify quality standards are met
• Inspect products for consistency, appearance, aroma, texture, and overall quality
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production concerns to supervisors
• Verify packaging accuracy, including proper labels, seals, and packaging materials
• Complete production documentation and daily reports accurately
• Collect and prepare product samples as required for quality assurance
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift

Qualifications

Required:

• Ability to work assigned schedules and varying shifts as needed
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality
• Basic math skills and the ability to accurately complete production records
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred:

• 1-2 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in food production or food manufacturing
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to safely operate and monitor production machinery
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and follow-up abilities
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience using electric pallet jacks and manual hand jacks preferred
• Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement

Work Environment

• Manufacturing bakery environment
• Exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and varying temperatures
• Moderate to high noise levels
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including hair nets, beard nets, ear protection, safety shoes, and uniforms
• Team-oriented production setting focused on quality and efficiency

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors
• Frequent climbing, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in a production environment
