Maintenance Mechanic

Our client is seeking dedicated Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd shift working to 3rd Shift to become an integral part of their team.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic
Perform a variety of tasks to lubricate production machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance. Assist with maintenance projects as required.

• Check logs from previous shifts and follow up on status.
• Review schedule and prioritize work processes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. Lubricate or apply other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment such as compressors, according to specified manufacturer procedures.
• Respond to emergent problems with production equipment. Start machine and observe mechanical operation to detect problem.
• Troubleshoot, inspect damaged or faulty machine parts and perform basic repair or recommend corrective action to supervisor.
• Use a variety of hand and power trade tools such as miscellaneous power bench tools and machines, wrenches, carpentry tools, electrical test equipment such as multimeters, amp meters, etc.
• Work with other trades personnel or maintenance mechanics to meet schedules and accomplish economical and timely repairs.
• Assist with scheduled project work. Install, replace, or change machine parts, belts, bearings, electrical supply, etc. according to specifications.
• Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
• Follow all lock out/tag out and safety rules and regulation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge— knowledge of production machines and tools. Good math skills.
• One to three years previous experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair of production machines with PLC controls.
• Basic Electrical knowledge, certified to work on 208 / 460 volts.
•  Able to read electrical diagrams
• Basic knowledge of welding
• Ability to troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors and correct them.
• Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
• Able to document/record Information — entering, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written form.

PHYSICAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

Position performs physical activities that require:

• Significant time standing on production line and moving about production areas.
• Considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, reaching and stooping, continuously moving very light weight material and frequently moving weight in excess of (25 – 50 lbs.) occasionally in difficult positions , balancing, moving about production areas.
• Handling and Moving Objects — Use of hands and arms in coordination to handle, position, and move materials, and manipulate things. Manual dexterity and fingering are required.
• Near vision—see objects at close range.
• Reaction Time — the ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to production situations.
• Problem Sensitivity — Able to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
• Monitor Self, Processes, Materials, or Surroundings — regularly review performance, materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems or take corrective action.
• Monitoring Operations—watching production indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
• Critical Thinking — using logic and reasoning to determine alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Able to read, comprehend, and convey information in Basic English. Bilingual preferred.

Compensation for the Maintenance Mechanic: $22.00
