Maintenance Mechanic (2nd Shift) — Direct Hire (Manchester, NH)

Masis Staffing Solutions is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to support a manufacturing facility by performing mechanical and electrical repairs, along with preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems. This role helps ensure equipment reliability, safe operations, and consistent production uptime.

Schedule & Pay

  • Shift: 2nd Shift — Monday–Friday, 6:00 PM–2:30 AM
  • Pay: $29.00–$39.00/hour (based on experience)
  • Shift differential: +$2.00/hour
  • Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
  • Overtime/Weekends: May be required as needed

What You’ll Do (Essential Functions)

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform daily and weekly equipment start-ups to ensure smooth operations
  • Set up production lines and complete equipment/tooling changeovers as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair processing/packaging equipment such as:
    • Mixers, depositors
    • Metal detectors, conveyors
    • Shrink film equipment
    • Printers, labelers, scales
  • Complete preventive maintenance (PMs) to keep equipment running at optimal performance

Facility Maintenance

  • Conduct daily inspections of refrigeration equipment, roof areas, utility rooms, and other critical spaces
  • Respond promptly to maintenance calls from production departments and provide troubleshooting support

Compliance & Documentation

  • Follow all safety, food manufacturing, and facility procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed

What We’re Looking For (Skills & Competencies)

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing/replacing mechanical components such as:
    • Bearings, shafts, chains, V-belts
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical failures and replace components such as:
    • 3-phase motors, fuses, relays
  • Familiarity using PLCs for troubleshooting (programming not required)
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Indoor manufacturing setting with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures
  • Must follow PPE and safety requirements
  • Physical demands include:
    • Standing/walking on concrete for extended periods
    • Frequent bending/twisting and lifting up to 50 lbs
    • Climbing ladders up to 30 feet

Education & Experience

Required

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training
  • Prior experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Experience/certification in wastewater operations and/or ammonia refrigeration
  • HVAC Technician License
  • Basic plumbing and welding knowledge
  • Experience with food manufacturing equipment (a plus, not required)

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Forklift certification/experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics
  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting tools (multimeters, voltage/amperage testers)
