Maintenance Mechanic/Technician
Narragansett, RI
Are you a skilled Maintenance Mechanic/Technician looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment? Our client is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team, maintaining and repairing facilities and equipment across multiple food facilities and an administrative building. If you have a passion for problem-solving and a commitment to safety, this opportunity is for you!
Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic/Technician
Diagnose, repair, and maintain facilities and equipment, including conveyors, lift equipment, and production machinery.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as greasing, cleaning, inspections, and fluid checks.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA, HACCP, DOT, and Food Safety regulations.
Maintain and repair lift equipment, including pallet jacks, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
Operate and manage the ice plant, including scheduling ice appointments and interacting with boat crews.
Travel between facilities as needed and perform snow removal when required.
Collaborate with outside vendors and maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop.
Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic/Technician
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, and scissor lift.
Valid Driver's License.
Experience with pumps, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors.
Mechanical knowledge for diagnosing and repairing lift equipment and machinery.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility for changing priorities.
Physical ability to lift 75 lbs., work in confined spaces, and at heights up to 30'.
Strong commitment to safety, continuous learning, and ethical behavior.
Compensation/Benefits for the Maintenance Mechanic/Technician
Pay Rate $25- $30 DOE
