Job Title: Material Handler
El Mirage, AZ
$22.00/hr.
Position Summary:
The Material Handler is a production-based role responsible for safely handling, moving, and organizing steel materials and equipment within the facility. This position is equivalent to a Rigger classification. All individuals must successfully complete a compulsory training period before being assigned to a production shift. Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Duties may vary depending on shift assignment, production demands, and supervisor instructions. All Material Handlers must be able to perform the following:
Operate overhead crane systems to move steel beams, plates, and assemblies
Handle and transport small steel components and shop equipment weighing 10–50 pounds
Assist with cleaning and painting steel, including handling paint and solvents
Operate a forklift safely and efficiently
Load and unload trucks and railcars using cranes and forklifts
Perform yard and facility cleaning duties
Assist in general building and equipment maintenance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry materials weighing 10–50 pounds
Adequate strength, mobility, dexterity, and stamina to perform physical labor
Good vision and hearing
Ability to work with minimal assistance
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to follow instructions accurately
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to complete mandatory training period
Ability to work assigned shifts and overtime as required
