Production Engineer
Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Saturdays as needed
Salary Range: $85,000–$100,000 annually

Job Summary
The Production Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing processes, equipment performance, product quality, and overall production efficiency. This position works closely with production, quality, maintenance, engineering, and management teams to identify opportunities for improvement, troubleshoot production issues, and support successful engineering projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Engineering Support

  • Provide engineering support for daily manufacturing and production operations.
  • Troubleshoot production, equipment, process, and product-related issues.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, recurring problems, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve productivity, quality, reliability, and manufacturing performance.
  • Support the introduction of new products, equipment, processes, and technologies into production.

Project Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering and production improvement projects.
  • Track project schedules, resources, costs, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure projects are completed according to established requirements and timelines.
  • Assist with equipment installation, process changes, production line modifications, and manufacturing improvements.

Process Improvement

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and waste reduction.
  • Develop and update work instructions, process documentation, engineering procedures, and technical standards.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action activities for production and quality issues.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with production, quality, maintenance, operations, and management teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and engineering support to production personnel.
  • Communicate project status, technical concerns, and recommended solutions to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other external partners when required.

Research & Development

  • Support the development and implementation of new manufacturing processes, products, and technologies.
  • Evaluate new equipment, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Stay informed of relevant engineering technologies and industry developments.

Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field required.
  • Master's degree in Engineering Management, Technology Management, or a related field is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product development, production, or a related technical role.
  • Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of engineering and manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with project planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, production, quality, and management teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify process improvements and implement practical engineering solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in battery pack, energy storage system (ESS), or related manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of Battery Management Systems (BMS).
  • Understanding of Power Conversion Systems (PCS).
  • Experience supporting manufacturing quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with global customers or international market requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar continuous improvement certification is a plus.

Work Environment
This is an in-person position primarily supporting manufacturing and production operations. The Production Engineer should be comfortable working collaboratively across both engineering and production environments and responding to operational priorities as needed.
