Location: Lunenburg, MA
Salary: $85,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Our client, an established civil engineering and land surveying firm serving Central and Eastern Massachusetts, is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join their Lunenburg team.
This position will support a variety of residential, commercial, and land development projects. The PLS will manage surveying projects from fieldwork through completed plans while working closely with survey crews, engineers, clients, and other project staff.
Responsibilities
Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, and land development surveys.
Complete boundary line determinations and research deeds, property records, plans, and other survey information.
Perform GPS control, construction staking, and other field surveying work as needed.
Process field data and prepare accurate survey plans and legal descriptions.
Prepare ANR, subdivision, ALTA, as-built, and other survey plans.
Coordinate and manage survey crews and field operations.
Review survey data and completed work for accuracy and compliance with Massachusetts regulations and professional standards.
Work closely with civil engineers and other project staff throughout the land development process.
Utilize AutoCAD, GPS equipment, robotic total stations, and other modern surveying technology.
Qualifications
Active Massachusetts Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
3+ years of professional land surveying experience.
Experience with boundary and topographic surveys, construction staking, and land development projects.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable CAD software.
Experience using GPS and modern surveying equipment.
Strong understanding of deeds, property records, boundary law, and land surveying principles.
Ability to manage projects and coordinate field crews.
Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Additional Experience That Is Helpful
ALTA and land title survey experience.
GIS mapping and data management.
Drone surveying or LiDAR technology.
Project management experience.
