Our client is seeking a Heavy/Highway Project Superintendent with a strong background in bridge construction and public-entity work (DOTs, Turnpike Authorities, and similar). This position is open to candidates with 2+ years through 20+ years of field leadership experience, with bridge work as the #1 priority. Experience with additional concrete structures (retaining walls, culverts, tunnels, sound walls) is a plus.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for heavy/highway projects with an emphasis on bridge construction.
  • Plan work activities, look-ahead schedules, and daily/weekly execution to keep production on track.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple subcontractors at once, including sequencing and scope coverage.
  • Oversee bridge-related scopes that may include pile driving, support of excavation, beam/girder erection, concrete piers and abutments, structure demolition, and concrete rehabilitation.
  • Maintain clear communication and documentation with internal teams and external stakeholders, including public owners and inspectors as required.
  • Drive jobsite safety, quality, organization, and schedule adherence while prioritizing deadlines.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years through 20+ years of heavy/highway field supervision experience (Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Foreman with comparable responsibility).
  • Heavy/highway experience required with bridge construction as the top priority.
  • Experience supporting bridge work that includes exposure to pile driving, support of excavation, beam erection, piers/abutments, demolition, and/or concrete rehab.
  • Experience working on projects for public entities such as DOTs, Turnpike Authorities, and similar agencies.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Additional Notes
 

  • Experience with retaining walls, culverts, tunnels, and sound walls is a plus.
  • Share the location/region and travel expectations and this can be tailored into a ready-to-post version.
