Industrial Pump Mechanic – Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Pump Mechanic responsible for disassembling, inspecting, measuring, repairing, and reassembling a wide range of industrial pump systems. This role requires strong mechanical expertise, diagnostic skills, and the ability to interpret technical documentation to ensure accurate repairs and reliable equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
Disassemble, inspect, measure, troubleshoot, and reassemble various industrial pumps including:
Split Case Pumps
End Suction Pumps
Submersible Pumps
Vertical Turbine Pumps
Diagnose mechanical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
Read and interpret pump cut sheets, schematics, and exploded diagrams to identify components and repair needs.
Perform detailed inspections and measurements to ensure proper tolerances and alignment.
Disassemble industrial gearboxes and transmissions to assess condition and identify failures.
Set gearbox spacing and perform adjustments to meet manufacturer specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation of inspections and repairs.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience working with medium to large industrial pumps.
Experience with manufacturers such as Flygt, KSB, Peerless, Ingersoll Rand, Flowserve, and Worthington strongly preferred.
At least 3 years of experience disassembling and diagnosing industrial gearboxes and/or transmissions.
Ability to fully read and interpret technical drawings, cut sheets, and exploded diagrams.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
Must own a complete set of tools required for the position.
Schedule
First Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Overtime opportunities available after the standard 8-hour shift.
