Masis Professional Group is recruiting for a Quality Assurance Technician on behalf of our client in Rochester, NY. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for following defined inspection and testing processes to determine acceptance of incoming materials and in-process products against specified quality standards. This role includes documenting inspection and test results, supporting the quality system, and interacting with calibration and auditing processes to ensure compliance and product integrity within a manufacturing environment.

Basic qualifications and/or traits that the Quality Assurance Technician must possess include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, or production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret quality assurance specifications, standard test procedures, blueprints/drawings, and engineering documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document results and maintain records.
  • Familiarity with measurement and testing equipment preferred.
  • Understanding of GMP, ISO, or SQF environments is a plus.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic computer and documentation skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as required.

Responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Technician:

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Perform incoming inspection of materials and components.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and accurately document all test and inspection results.
  • Identify, segregate, and label non-conforming product; notify appropriate shifts and management of issues.
  • Write and maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and update tracking logs.
  • Report food safety concerns and maintain focus on GMP and SQF requirements at all times.
  • Collaborate with production and quality leadership to support go/no-go decisions.
  • Maintain quality records in accordance with documented procedures, including test data and retained samples.
  • Assist with preparation of quality documentation for customer and supplier audits.
  • Assemble job books and production documentation as required.
  • Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain work areas in compliance with food safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Assist in training quality inspectors and production personnel on quality procedures.
  • Follow all ISO policies and procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain measurement and testing equipment; identify equipment requiring repair.
  • Develop and support quality inspection plans and assist in improving departmental procedures and policies.
  • Perform inspection and testing of quality control equipment and ensure proper maintenance and calibration support.
