Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: Phoenix, AZ
7th St and i17
Pay: $45-$48 per hour (DOE)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Monday- Friday some Saturdays 5am-3:30pm.. maybe later due to business needs 

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee and maintain quality assurance and quality control processes within a steel and pipe fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring all fabrication, welding, and inspection activities meet applicable industry codes, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The Quality Manager will work closely with production teams, project managers, and customers to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement in shop quality performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all quality control processes related to steel and pipe fabrication
  • Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and customer specifications including ASME, AWS, and API
  • Lead internal audits and implement corrective actions to maintain and improve quality assurance systems
  • Review and approve material test reports, welding procedures, and fabrication records
  • Collaborate with project managers, welders, fitters, and customers to resolve quality related issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection reports and all quality related records
  • Train and mentor shop personnel on quality best practices, visual inspection standards, and welding quality requirements
  • Participate in third party audits and customer inspections
  • Monitor quality metrics and implement initiatives to continuously improve shop performance and product quality
  • Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and company quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
  • Strong knowledge of steel and pipe fabrication processes
  • Experience with industry codes and standards including ASME, AWS, and API
  • Experience reviewing welding procedures, inspection documentation, and material test reports
  • Ability to conduct internal audits and manage corrective action processes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally with production teams, management, and customers
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards

Preferred Experience

  • Previous quality leadership experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting customer inspections and third party audits
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a fabrication shop environment
