Working with a longstanding and leading manufacturing company in Northern Illinois, the Tool and Die Maker position will be a mix of tool making and machining. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, with a lot of overtime available.
Responsibilities for the Tool and Die Maker
-Read and interpret engineering drawings to fabricate tools and dies
-Operate manual and computer-controlled machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
-Utilize CAD software for tool design and modification
-Perform welding, grinding, and machining tasks to build or repair tools
-Set up and operate stamping presses to test completed tools
-Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments
Requirements for the Tool and Die Maker
-Proficiency in machining techniques and tool fabrication
-Experience with CAD software for design purposes
-Ability to read blueprints and perform mathematical calculations
-Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
-Familiarity with programming CNC machines is a plus
Compensation for the Tool and Die Maker
-$28-32 an hour, with minimum 50 hours a week, health, dental, vision, 401k plan
