Welder / Fabrication Technician
Location: Fitchburg, WI
Pay: $27.41 per hour, plus $2.00 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift
Schedule: 3rd shift
Job Type: Full-time, direct hire
Work Location: In person

A well-established manufacturing company in the Fitchburg, WI area is seeking an experienced Welder / Fabrication Technician to support stainless steel fabrication, TIG welding, finishing, grinding, polishing, and production work in a clean, team-focused manufacturing environment.

This is a direct-hire opportunity with competitive pay, a 3rd shift differential, strong benefits, and a $3,500 sign-on bonus. Half of the bonus is paid upon start, with the remaining balance paid after successful completion of six months of employment.

What You’ll Do

Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and other specified materials.
Complete finishing work on fabricated parts to meet quality and appearance standards.
Operate grinding and polishing equipment, including automatic, semi-automatic, and manual machines.
Set up equipment and workstations at the start of each shift, including fixtures, tooling, and required materials.
Select, load, and adjust machine programs needed to produce specific parts.
Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and job breakdowns.
Inspect completed parts using visual checks and precision measuring tools.
Verify quality, dimensional accuracy, and overall workmanship.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Help train team members on fabrication processes and equipment operation.
Support improvements to standard work instructions and production procedures.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all safety, quality, and production guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

Previous TIG welding experience required.
Experience with stainless steel welding, fabrication, finishing, grinding, or polishing preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Basic computer skills and comfort working with machine software.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Reliable attendance and willingness to work assigned 3rd shift schedule.
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to perform physical work including bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, twisting, climbing, and repetitive movements.
Solid basic math and numerical skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
