The Senior Paralegal will serve as a key member of the legal team, working directly with the Chief Legal Officer on securities and governance matters. This role will also support a broad range of additional legal functions, including litigation support, regulatory compliance, and general corporate work. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with a collaborative mindset and a strong ability to operate independently in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
Support preparation and execution of board and committee meetings, including agenda creation, material compilation, and document organization.
Assist with drafting, reviewing, and coordinating securities filings.
Provide paralegal support for M&A transactions and other corporate initiatives.
Manage corporate governance tasks, including legal entity maintenance and drafting board minutes and written consents.
Offer general legal support in areas such as litigation, trademark matters, regulatory compliance, and general corporate needs.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 7+ years of relevant paralegal experience, including direct experience working with a public company.
Skills & Competencies
Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work both collaboratively within a small team and independently with minimal guidance.
Comfortable interacting with all levels of management, including executives and board members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
3–5 years of experience using board governance platforms such as Diligent or Boardworks.
Must be a Notary Public.
Physical & Workplace Requirements
Occasional travel may be required.
Must be able to work onsite at corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC, with the possibility of one remote day per week.
Role requires extended periods working at a computer; ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
